In a balance so far in 2018, exports of bottled wine recorded a rise of 4.4% in volume and 13.6% in value in the month, compared to the same period of 2017.
The Wine Association of Chile revealed that in the first four months of the year, exports of Chilean wine suffered an increase of 2.13% in volume and 8% in value with respect to the same period last year.
In relation to the average price of shipments, this increased by 5.76% compared to the same period of 2017, with a value of US $ 20.10 per box, exceeding the average price of the first four months of the previous year, which was US $ 27.51 per box.
The first 4 months of the year show increases in a large part of the strategic markets defined by Chile, which are adjusted with the growth strategy.
The trend remains
The main buyers of Chilean wine are China, the United States and Japan, nations that lead exports of Chilean wines, totaling US $ 67.3 in the case of China; US $ 56.9 in the US and US $ 48.6 million in Japan.
