During the month of February, bottled wine for export registered an increase of 6.11% in volume and 10.69% in value with respect to the same month of 2017.

Chilean wine producers explained that the increase was 4.31% compared to the same month of 2017, standing at US $ 29.89 / box, and exceeding the average of 2017 (US $ 28 / box), this aligned with the growth and an increase in the average price of the 2025 Strategy.
These numbers reveal that the 12-month performance continues to be extremely positive, confirming the good term of 2017, with a growth of 4.7% in volume and 5.96% in value, and totaling 57.6 million cases and US $ 1,623.5 million.
The main markets
Although the traditional markets of Chilean wine destinations (USA, China, Brazil, among others) have registered an increase in shipments, Chile’s wine production shows growth in six destinations. Although China, the United States and the United Kingdom led the shipments of Chilean wine with US $ 16.9, US $ 11.7 and US $ 11.6 million, respectively, Denmark and Korea also registered important numbers. For example, Denmark had + 61.1% in volume and 92.48% in value and Korea registered + 54.13% and + 48.95%. These two countries were the ones that grew the most with respect to the same month of the previous year.
In terms of market consolidation, China is the first destination country for Chilean export wines with US $ 263 million and 8.5 million boxes, which recorded the highest growth (31.21% in volume and 30, 3% in value). For its part, the US is the second largest destination, and unfortunately accumulates a fall of -8.22% and -12.65% in 12 months, respectively. Brazil, meanwhile, is the second with the highest increases (14.5% and 17.38%, respectively).
Chilean exporters left with optimism in 2018 and the focus will be on education, promotion and image construction of Chilean wines.
