In this context, China became the main market for Chilean wine, surpassing the USA, which led the ranking of exports of Chilean wine in 2015. Also in 2016 new markets for Chilean wines emerged, among Ireland and Holland, and the attractive Brazilian market reconfirmed its preference by offering 53% of the country’s wine market.

Premium wines have been positioned in the United States, Brazil and UK markets, bringing new consumers to the category.

In 2016, ProChile e Imagen de Chile, launched an international campaign directed at consumers in two key markets: China and the United States. The concept “Love Wine, Love Chile” focused on the new millennial consumers – young people between 20 and 35 years old – to increase knowledge of Chilean wines.

For 2017, the focus will continue on the promotion of Chilean wines, with activities in the United States, China, Brazil, Canada and UK markets.

The objective of the strategy is to consolidate Chile as the number one producer of Premium, Sustainable and Diverse Wines of the New World, positioning the designation of origin Chile and contributing to the development of the sector as a whole.
