Chilean sparkling wines have become an important product for Chilean vineyards. In the last 10 years, exports of sputum have tripled in volume and increased five times in value. The figures speak for themselves, as expansion in this category displaces the rest of the bottled wines, which grew 1.31% in volume and fell 1.38% in value to October this year.

For analysts, exports of sparkling wines will continue to grow in double digits, both in volume and value. The industry also bets on the local market, where the consumption of this category of wines is no longer typical of the holidays, but has been seasonally adjusted thanks to certain consumer niches, such as women and so-called millenials. Is concentrated between 21 and 38 years.

The panorama ahead

Worldwide, the sparkling wine business accounts for about 8% of total wine sales. Meanwhile, for the local industry, sales of this product represent about 5% in the domestic market, and exports account for about 1% of its export business.

The potential for growth is high, considering the positioning of the category in recent years. That’s why companies put their chips in this segment. CortaHojas.com intends to continue positioning itself in this business in the future.
