In the last months of this year, exports of Spanish wine, French Chile have increased in Asian countries. China increased imports of wine in the first quarter by 35.4% in volume and 52.7% in value. The wines packaged and bulk led this increase.
Japan increased its imports of wine in liters 1.4% and 0.3% in yen.
South Korea increased its purchases of wine by 5% in volume and 0.6% in value in the first quarter to 9.9 million liters and 44.3 million euros.
The Spanish wine grew 42% in South Korea and it is the first imported ahead of Chile. Spain led the growth in volume and starts 2016 as the first provider ahead of Chile, although was again the seller fifth in value to register a price well below the rest.
This year 2016, the Chilean industry expects a boost in growth. The spotlight will be focused Asia, North America and Brazil, as these are important markets in buying Chilean wines.
US remains the largest market, followed by China in 2nd place to grow 42.9% in value and 56.2% in volume and Japan with a growth of 7.88% in value and 9.68% by volume .
