At a time when the northern hemisphere suffers with the most extreme cold registered in recent decades, on the other side of the planet the inhabitants struggle with a hot summer of high temperatures. That is the case of Chile. This is the time of year when Chileans take the opportunity to take vacations and enjoy good sunsets with a good Chilean wine.
On this occasion we will share some recommendations so that you can enjoy a good wine at any time.
As many times it is said, a good wine can become the protagonist of any event. That is why you should choose a good one, that suits the situation you are in. So the question is what are the most suitable wines for summer days?
The first thing that comes to mind – and we have said before – is to have a white wine handy. We propose that it be a Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is characterized because it is fruity and with floral and citrus aromas. It is a refreshing wine to the mouth if they are kept very cold, and are perfect for summer nights.
There is also the option of a rose wine. Erroneously, this type of wine was considered for a long time as inferior, but has shown that its quality can be equal to or even higher than that of other types of wine. It is ideal for its freshness and its fruity aroma.
If the white wine itself is already refreshing to the mouth, we have another alternative: the sparkling wine. The gases in the form of bubbles that they contain, make them especially fresh if they are kept cold.
Finally there is the king of wines: red wine. This is the great protagonist of all the tables at any time of the year. Although, for many wine fans, summer is not a good partner for red wine, this one can be a good companion …. even in summer. Ideally, drink it in the afternoon or late at night, as it is not as refreshing as previous wines.

There are different recommendations for wines during the summer:
In the case of white and rosé wines, the ideal temperature fluctuates between 9 and 12º C, depending on whether it is young (10º C) or barrel (12º C). And it is recommended to keep them in a bucket with ice water.
In the case of red wine, the recommendation suggests keeping it between 16 and 18º C.
As we always point out, these are only recommendations, since the taste for wine and the way to enjoy it depends on the tastes of each person.
