In the first semester of 2018, Chilean wine closed with an increase in the value of the average price of its exports, driven by growth in the Chinese and Brazilian markets. In the first six months of the year, China and Brazil were the countries that showed the most dynamism, growing in volume by 9.4% and 6.6%, respectively.
During the first semester, bottled wine achieved an increase of 4.77% in value and stability in volume (-0.53%), with respect to the same period of 2017. The average price, meanwhile, increased by 5, 33%, standing at US $ 28.80 per box.
Markets that prefer Chilean wine
The markets that led Chilean wine exports during the first half of 2018 were China (US $ 124.3 million), followed by the US (US $ 75.5 million) and the United Kingdom (US $ 69.3 million). .
Year-on-year performance remained positive, due to the total of 57.09 million boxes and 1.6 million dollars collected for shipments abroad. The volume of exports had a 12-month growth of 3.39% and 7.04% in value.
Due to the good performance of the main markets in the first six months, the accumulated of the year shows a positive trend.
In the last twelve months of exports, China appears first with US $ 66.3 million in shipments and 8.6 million boxes, located within the markets with the highest growth, with a year-on-year increase of 21.61% in volume and 19.97% in value.
The United States is the second largest destination, accumulating a fall of -6.49% in volume and -10.9% in value. Brazil, meanwhile, ranks third and accumulates growth, with 10.83% in volume and 13.85%
