In October of this year the juries of the WinEvaluator will arrive in Chile, a wine contest aimed at the Chinese market that, for the first time, will be held in Chile and could become a way to enter more strongly the attractive market of the Asian giant.
The contest that includes a series of tastings follows evaluation guidelines developed by the China Rating System for Global Wine (CWE), based on the culinary and wine habits of the eastern consumers.
The spirit of the contest is part of the efforts of the Chinese authorities to consolidate Asian standards to guide importers and to depend less on judges’ eyes with standards of other cultures.
The China Rating System for Global Wine (CWE) has 43 juries. Of this nine are Master of Wine. In its first adventure in Chile, the jury will be composed of five members who must blindly evaluate almost four hundred samples.
The organizing company of the tasting contest China Central Chile, explained that the winning wines will receive facilities to export to that market and will be part of a yearbook focused on Chilean wines. In addition, the vineyards will be able to participate in promotional events that the CWE will organize next year.
Little by little the Chinese market begins to learn that South America is much more than Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere of Chile, Malbec. Chile offers a varied range of wines of excellent quality, which are very attractive for their reasonable price compared to wines from other nations.
