Cortahojas.com stressed that production will return to normal levels after years of difficulties. High expectations have these days the wine sector, since the harvest that is expected during the harvest this year (currently under development) would be higher than the year 2017.

The last two years, the harvests have been disappointing mainly because of the prolonged droughts, the strong frosts and the unexpected rains that led the sector to have higher costs in the production of wine.

According to the estimates of the experts and producers, it could improve during 2018, since up to now there have been positive climatic conditions, which is helping to obtain higher volumes and better fruit quality.

In practically all the wine sectors of Chile that are still in harvest, the vintage is being better than the last three years, and it is estimated that the harvests will increase between 10 and 15% with respect to last year.
The yields of 2017 were lower, which helped to have a lot of focus on the wines. 2018, cooler and with normal yields, projects a balanced vintage. After a few weak years in grape production, due to climatic factors, a much better 2018 is expected.

Other experts in the field argue that this year there will be about 30% more production in general terms compared to last year, which was affected by climatic factors. Regarding quality, there is enough compliance and yields are approaching what is a normal year.

In March and April of each year, various associations celebrate holidays linked to this productive activity.
