Inversiones Corta Hojas Ltda. parent company of www.cortahojas.com obtained the CarbonNeutral® Office Certification through the CarbonNeutral.com (international protocol), with which the company neutralizes its CO2 emissions associated with the commercial management of wine exports.
Carbon Neutral helps companies develop sustainability strategies and CO2 emission reduction programs. “Carbon Neutral” is a term that refers to the state in which the net emissions of greenhouse gases released to the environment are equal to zero, their principal objective is not to affect the natural concentration of greenhouse gases that exist in the atmosphere.
In Chile, there are vineyards that have certification in their different versions (Company, Product, Office, etc)… However, Corta Hojas has been certified as a commercial office, which would be one of the first Companies to do so in the Region of Maule.

The carbon bonds acquired by Inversiones Corta Hojas Limitada were invested in the Valdivian Coastal Conservation Reserve. The Valdivian Coastal Conservation Reserve is a project of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a non-profit organization that was founded in the United States in 1951, and whose mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which life depends. In 2003, the organization (with the support of others) acquired 60,000 hectares of the Chaihuín – Venecia property in the XIV Región de Los Ríos, where the reserve was created in 2005.
