The climate passed a tough account wine production in Argentina. According to statistics, the harvest in that country has been the most bad in the last 50 years, a situation that affected a large number of hectares.

This scenario brought immediate consequence a drop in harvest, which Argentina was down 4 steps in the ranking of world wine production. According to the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), occupying the 5th place, he was located in the 9th. This meant that Australia, China, Chile and South Africa, outscored Argentina.

Argentina’s harvest was 8.8 million hectoliters (hl.), 35% lower than in 2015, with 13.4 million was already below normal levels, just over 15 million. In quintals of grapes, production averaged 26.6 million, but this year was only 19.8 million.

This year, sharply lower led to even surpass Chile to Argentina as producer, despite registering a harvest 21% less than 2015, also by the weather.
