Content provided by Chilean-wines .com. / Red wine consumption and health benefits of people has always been a topic of discussion among the scientific and medical community.

How does the consumption of wine to cardiovascular health? How affects the central nervous system? How beneficial are those of red wine for health? Here are some of the questions that are always present and that researchers are trying to solve.

A recent study by the Catholic University of Murcia seeks the answers to these questions, focusing on wine polyphenols. But due to the low absorption of these compounds by the human organism, comes the need to review the influence of other wine compounds and their effects on the health of people.

According to research components exist in more effective than wine polyphenols. Including melatonin and phytoprostanes. The latter compounds are described first in red wine.

The study is called “Bioactive compounds in red wine and its effect on oxidative stress and vascular markers of inflammation, mutagenesis and degeneration of the central nervous system after their dietary intake by healthy volunteers” and was conducted by Javier Hernandez Marhuenda.
