Learn more www.cortahojas.com.-/ The Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Chile, made changes to the rules governing the wine label, referred to in Article No. 10b of Supreme Decree No. 464 of 1994. This legislation in force expression for wines produced from grapes table for fresh consumption is “table wine”, which may mislead the consumer as to the true nature and origin of the product.

The idea is that the labeling of this type of wine is changed to be marketed as “wine made from table grapes”. This is based on Article 35 of Law No. 18.455, which states that labels may not be included mentions that mislead as to the origin, raw material or nature of the product.

In addition, a transitory article, which says that the enactment of this provision applies to wines produced under the 2015 vintage (which are declared this year) and has no retroactive effect to the above or packaging for wine stock included of years before this vintage.
